Self-portrait by Larry Rivers
Larry Rivers—born Yitzroch Loiza Grossberg in 1923—was the child of Ukrainian immigrants who fled to New York, a source of inspiration throughout his life as a painter, musician, and filmmaker. The works in this exhibition focus on the impact of the Russian Revolution, as well as those who fled Germany at the onset of World War II. Also on exhibition are works by William Harrington, a Vietnam War veteran, who continued this practice of social commentary through the lens of painting.

On show through March 3.
