Daymé Arocena
Join us in Madison Square Park for a one-of-a-kind performance by Grammy Award–nominated Afro-Cuban singer and composer Daymé Arocena, who creatively confronts traditional notions of Latin pop by blending Afro-Caribbean beats, modern pop, and neo-soul vocals with “seemingly limitless” range (The New York Times). This concert is particularly noteworthy as the culmination of the Procession of Angels for Radical Love and Unity, a collaborative initiative by Madison Square Park Conservancy and Harlem Art Park, conceived by artist María Magdalena Campos-Pons. Over the course of two days and seven unique events, the procession aims to bring a multigenerational gathering to historically significant New York City locations, helping participants envision their communities as a collective force and tracing the steps of the past to build an inclusive future. All are invited to enjoy Daymé Arocena’s concert as a standalone performance or as part of this unique initiative.
