Armando Tranquilino looks at his reflection in a piano
This unique presentation by Cuban-American composer Armando Tranquilino of pieces inspired by the concept of United in Sound spans the historical and cultural cross-currents that have created our musical landscape. The concert will revolve around three themes: Masterful Echoes, Espejos, and 7 de octubre. Masterful Echos features solo piano pieces that echo classical European and American composers; Espejos is a multimedia presentation that integrates legendary and transcendent Spanish painters from the 15th through the 20th centuries; and 7 de octubre is a poignant homage to the composer’s father, highlighting his emotional journey as a political prisoner and immigrant.
