Oratorio Society of New York by Brian Hatton
Closing its 2025-2026 season, the Oratorio Society of New York presents a rare performance of Handel’s Alexander’s Feast. An ode to the power of music, the work was last performed by OSNY in 1878 and has only been performed at Carnegie Hall in its entirety once before, in 1959. The work celebrates the feast held by Alexander the Great in honor of his conquest of Persia, culminating in a final chorus that exalts Saint Cecilia, patron saint of music.
