ShapeShifter Plus presents the first of two events that honor the artistic relationships between John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Gil Evans, and bassist Jimmy Garrison, whose collective innovations helped shape the evolution of modern jazz. The evening opens with pianist and composer George Colligan presenting original works with vocalist Zyanna Melada and bassist Matthew Garrison, including a selection connected to the Davis and Coltrane legacies. The program culminates in a featured performance by The Gil Evans Orchestra Led by Miles Evans and concludes with an open jam session.
