The always-evolving Met Orchestra Chamber Ensemble features musicians from the legendary Met Orchestra in a variety of unique programs. Alongside special guest artists from the Met Opera and beyond, they explore a boundless world of chamber music that includes all-time classics, hidden gems, and standout works by many of today’s acclaimed composers. Conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads this evening’s performance of Schubert’s masterful “Death and the Maiden” Quartet, powerfully arranged for string orchestra by Gustav Mahler.
