Witness the Carnegie Hall debut of international rising star Aigul Akhmetshina, named “Female Singer of the Year” at the 2023 International Opera Awards. Known for superb title-role performances in Carmen and other major productions at the Royal Opera House, Met Opera, and beyond, Akhmetshina is one of today’s leading musical storytellers. This evening, she presents a musical journey of her own design, spanning three “chapters” of classical art songs, opera selections, jazz standards, film music, and Latin American repertoire with pianist Jonathan Palmer Lakeland.
