Collaborate with visionary artist esperanza spalding in a one-of-a-kind, interactive performance. This curated evening of original, familiar, and folk songs explores how shared music and dance can inspire communities to enjoy a more reciprocal relationship with all that nourishes us—from the lands and waters that sustain our bodies, to the labor upon which our cities and collective dreams rely. Convening for the first time as part of her Carnegie Hall Perspectives series, spalding’s dynamic jazz and folk ensemble interweaves an assemblage of musical styles and contemporary dance into a performance that is informed, in part, by the audience’s unique contributions, exchanges, and recollections.
