Musical Explorers
Program Details

  • Two interactive concerts (winter and spring) per year, either in Zankel Hall or via the Musical Explorers on-demand videos
  • Two required professional development workshops (fall and spring)
  • A Teacher Guide featuring lessons and creative extensions for yearlong coursework, geared toward both music teachers and general classroom teachers
  • Student Guide workbooks
  • Digital resources, including video and audio recordings

Professional Development Workshop Schedule

All participating teachers are required to attend two professional development workshops (each 2.5 hours long): one in the fall of 2019, and one in the spring of 2020. Professional development workshops take place in the Resnick Education Wing at Carnegie Hall. The entrance is located at 154 West 57th Street (at Seventh Avenue), just east of the main Box Office entrance. Get directions to Carnegie Hall.

Fees

There is a general fee of $6 per student and $50 per teacher. Schools are permitted to bring one chaperone free of charge for every 10 students. Payment by personal check, credit card, or copy of certified purchase order is due by Friday, January 31, 2020.
