Link Up National Conference Education Team Leader Scholarship Application
As we continue to evaluate the support we provide to you, your staff, and your educators, we want to alert you to an opportunity for education leaders in the Link Up community. We are offering up to five scholarships for Education Team Leaders to attend the annual Link Up National Conference in New York City from May 22–23, 2019. These scholarships include lodging and round-trip domestic air or train fare. Scholarship nominations will be accepted until Friday, April 12, 2019. Please note that we will only accept one nomination per organization. Your nominee must be available for all conference activities outlined below.
The purpose of the Education Team Leader scholarships is to identify and support educators who are advocates of Link Up in order to boost student participation in the program and elevate professional development offerings for local teachers. Scholarship participants will attend a special Education Team Leadership session with Link Up educator Ashleigh Lore; participate in a sample Link Up professional development session; experience a live Link Up: The Orchestra Moves concert at Carnegie Hall; and have the opportunity to connect with administrators and educators from all over the country.
Your nominee for the Education Team Leader scholarship should be someone who serves as a liaison between your organization and your Link Up teachers. This person can be a school teacher, school administrator, community volunteer, teaching artist, or part-time staff member at your organization. They should have some classroom teaching experience, but they should not be a full-time staff member at your organization. An Education Team Leader can be someone new to the field who has demonstrated the capacity to be an inspiring educator and take on a leadership role. As part of their experience as an Education Team Leader, they will learn more about Link Up and how to work closely with the program to train others in your community.
This scholarship is intended for individuals who are interested in assuming an Education Team Leader role with your organization for the 2019–2020 season. We are most interested in educators who will commit to leading at least one Link Up professional development session and serving as a resource for your educators in the coming season.
