NeON Arts Spring Workshops
NeON Arts workshops take place online this spring. Participants from all five boroughs of New York City have the chance to connect and collaborate as a community online through free workshops in music, theater, visual arts, creative writing, and digital media. NeON Arts allows young people ages 16–24 to build peer relationships and learn more about opportunities and careers in New York City arts and entertainment industries
Creative Expressions Unlimited: Word, Sound, Motion

Creative Expressions Unlimited will teach young people how to write, produce, and record original music using an app-based music production software called Sound Trap, which will be made free for participants to use during the workshop.
Collective Fare: Cookery Urbanity, Culinary Arts and Kitchen Safety for All
Collective Fare’s MEALS FOR ALL! program helps to close the gap of access to fresh, tasty, low-cost to free meals and provides free meals to those in need. The digital version of this program will teach participants how to prepare healthy, low-cost meals through weekly instructional videos on Google Classroom and YouTube Live. Culinary materials and weekly meal boxes will be shipped to program participants through Amazon, PeaPod, or FreshDirect.
Penning My Pieces: Piecing Together the Puzzle of My Life
Penning My Pieces writing workshops will take place on weekly video conference calls. Sessions will include two or three online readings that feature participating storytellers, online documents that are easily accessible by workshop participants, and workshop materials such as books, journals, and pens, which will be shipped to participants’ homes or a designated address. An anthology comprised of writing produced during the workshop and a live, in-person culminating storyteller showcase will take place when Carnegie Hall is able to reopen.
Drama Club: “Yes, and ...?”
Acting, Theater, Comedy, and Performance
Drama Club cultivates love and compassion, arts, creativity, and imagination in its work. Its organizational values are love, respect, consistency, humor, equity, and the practice of asking the question “yes, and ...?” Participants will play and explore boundaries in a world they create, while telling stories in the ways they want to tell them.
The Creative Youth Society
Visual Arts and Exhibition Design
The Creative Youth Society sessions will be a hybrid of both pre-recorded instructional videos and live sessions during which participants will learn industrial design through several builders’ workshops. Participants will have select materials shipped to their homes or a designated address.
