The legendary Boston Symphony Orchestra returns to Carnegie Hall for three programs. Led by Music Director Andris Nelsons, the first features trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger in HK Gruber’s marvelously eclectic Aerial and concludes with Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, while the second is an all-Strauss program with soprano Renée Fleming. Composer-conductor Thomas Adès is on the podium for the third concert, with Kirill Gerstein as soloist on Adès’s Piano Concerto.
