Voices of Hope: Music
An intense Shostakovich symphony, an exploration of songs from the Ibero-American songbook, music created in ghettos and concentration camps during the Holocaust, a meditation on the legacy of an African American jazz pioneer, and many more spectrums of music are presented by Carnegie Hall in free nightly live streams. Festival partner events include a performance of a chamber masterpiece composed in a prisoner-of-war-camp, songs about finding grace in times of crisis, a recital of piano music by Black and Native American composers, and other musical events.
