Carnegie Hall announced today that single tickets for all Voices from Latin America festival events at Carnegie Hall will go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m.

Running from November 8 to December 11, 2012, Carnegie Hall’s citywide Voices from Latin America festival will pay tribute to a region whose vibrant culture has influenced people around the world with more than 60 events. Under the guidance of Argentinean-American composer Osvaldo Golijov, holder of the 2012–2013 Richard and Barbara Debs Composer’s Chair, Carnegie Hall invited three internationally acclaimed performers to curate series of concerts that spotlight their vibrant musical cultures: singer-songwriter Gilberto Gil and Brazilian popular music, pianist-composer Chucho Valdés and Afro-Cuban jazz, and conductor Gustavo Dudamel and El Sistema in Venezuela. Carnegie Hall also partners with Celebrate México Now—the annual festival of Mexican art and culture in New York City—to present festival programs across the five boroughs of New York City, focusing on the music and culture of Mexico, culminating with a tribute to legendary singer Chavela Vargas in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

Through collaborations with other prestigious cultural institutions and a series of free Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concerts in community venues, the reach of the festival will extend throughout New York City, spanning different art forms, including music, literature, dance, film, panel discussions, photography, and art exhibitions, providing insight into diverse Latin American cultures that continue to fuel the world’s imagination.

A complete schedule for Voices from Latin America will be announced this summer. For more information, visit carnegiehall.org/LatinAmerica.

Note: Single tickets for all remaining events in Carnegie Hall’s 2012–2013 season will go on sale later in the summer (August 20 at 8:00 a.m. for subscribers and donors; August 27 at 8:00 a.m. for the general public). Subscription packages are currently available via the Carnegie Hall Box Office, CarnegieCharge, and carnegiehall.org.
