Chamber Sessions I
Enjoy world-class string quartets in Zankel Hall, Carnegie Hall’s underground sanctuary for music. The audience-favorite Danish String Quartet, whose playing on this stage has been called “ensemble music at its purest” (The New York Times), performs Ravel’s String Quartet; Mozart’s Divertimento in D Major, K. 136; and arrangements of traditional Northern European folk songs. Plus, witness two performances that showcase why the four members of Quatuor Ébène are considered among the finest Beethoven interpreters in the world, as they perform string quartets that span the composer’s career.
Chamber Sessions II
The Takács Quartet—“one of the world’s greatest” (The New York Times)—kicks off this three-concert series in Zankel Hall with a program of works by Felix Mendelssohn and Carlos Simon, plus Franck’s singular Piano Quintet with Jeremy Denk. Then, discover why Quatuor Ébène’s Beethoven interpretations are considered among the finest in the world today, as the musicians perform four of the composer’s chamber music masterpieces across two programs.

Witness some of the world’s most sought-after musicians on Carnegie Hall’s grandest stage. Enjoy piano recitals by the eminent Emanuel Ax, a perennial audience favorite; and Daniil Trifonov, one of the 21st century’s leading stars. Plus, dive into Beethoven’s timeless chamber works, as violin virtuoso Maxim Vengerov and the great pianist Martha Argerich perform a concert of violin sonatas; and the all-star trio of Evgeny Kissin, Maxim Vengerov, and Gautier Capuçon perform a selection of the composer’s most celebrated piano trios.

Experience four of the season’s biggest concerts on our most iconic stage. Global superstar Yunchan Lim performs a recital of Mozart’s piano sonatas as part of his anticipated Mozart cycle. Pianist Igor Levit, “one of the essential artists of our time” (The New York Times), gives a recital that showcases why he is one of the world’s most in-demand Beethoven interpreters. The groundbreaking Silkroad Ensemble celebrates its 25th anniversary with Artistic Director Rhiannon Giddens and Founder Yo-Yo Ma. “Global phenomenon” (The Telegraph) cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason and “genius” (The Spectator) pianist Benjamin Grosvenor team up for an all-Beethoven duo and trio program that features violin virtuoso Hilary Hahn.
Great Artists III
Hear some of the greatest works ever written, performed by nine of the world’s leading soloists. Superstar pianist Yunchan Lim performs five of Mozart’s timeless piano sonatas and more. Violinist Maxim Vengerov and pianist Martha Argerich perform a program of Beethoven’s violin sonatas. An all-star ensemble of Leonidas Kavakos, Gil Shaham, Lawrence Power, Antoine Tamestit, Kian Soltani, and Alisa Weilerstein perform Brahms’s string sextets—two of the late-Romantic repertoire’s most exquisite chamber works.
Cross Currents
This three-concert, genre-crossing journey for the culturally curious begins with a song cycle by Gabriel Kahane, “one of the finest, most searching songwriters of the day” (The New Yorker). Then, hear a new large-scale creation by the perpetually groundbreaking Kronos Quartet, who in the past 50 years have commissioned more than 1,200 original works and sold more records than any string quartet in history. Finally, experience the world premiere of a time-traveling, semi-staged collaboration between Ringdown—the duo of visionary composer Caroline Shaw and multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Danni Lee Parpan—and Decoda, Carnegie Hall’s first-ever affiliate ensemble.
Quartets Plus
Experience limitless artistic possibilities in programs curated and performed by four exemplary ensembles—the Miró Quartet, Ariel Quartet, Junction Trio, and Marmen Quartet. Enjoy works by Schubert, Webern, Haydn, Brahms, Ravel, Robert Schumann, Ligeti, and Debussy; a highly anticipated New York premiere by Andrew Norman; and pieces by the multifaceted Caroline Shaw, holder of Carnegie Hall’s 2026–2027 Debs Composer’s Chair, whose works are woven through all four programs.
Connections: Ensemble Connect and Decoda
Celebrate classical music’s bright future with two ensembles known for their virtuosity, curiosity, and sense of adventure. Across three programs, Ensemble Connect performs chamber works by Bartók, Brahms, Coleridge-Taylor, Copland, Dvořák, Ligeti, Loeffler, and Kodály; a New York premiere by Hannah Ishizaki; and works by leading contemporary composers Reena Esmail, Jennifer Higdon, and Caroline Shaw, holder of Carnegie Hall’s 2026–2027 Debs Composer’s Chair. Shaw’s works are also performed by Decoda, Carnegie Hall’s first affiliate ensemble, alongside works by Berio, Björk, and Britten; a New York premiere by Viet Cuong; and an original work created by the ensemble after Gustav Mahler.
Baroque Unlimited
Enjoy timeless Baroque music performed in imaginative and virtuosic new programs. “Master musical storyteller” (Seen and Heard International) Jeannette Sorrell leads a stunning, transcontinental journey performed with Grammy-winning ensemble Apollo’s Fire and world-renowned soprano Jeanine De Bique. Quebec’s Les Violons du Roy returns to great demand with groundbreaking mandolinist Avi Avital. Genuine thrills are discovered in Tenore Assoluto, a program of bravura arias and vocal showpieces performed by Michael Spyres with Il Pomo d’Oro.
Fast Forward I
Experience several of today’s most exciting composers and performers. The prolific American Composers Orchestra performs its latest program of premieres—an ambitious staple of each Carnegie Hall season. The Attacca Quartet and Pulitzer Prize–winning composer, violist, and singer Caroline Shaw continue their Grammy-winning collaboration. Third Coast Percussion—known for “constantly redefin[ing] the classical music experience” (Forbes)—performs reimagined works by Philip Glass, Mozart, and visionary composer-performer Jlin; a New York premiere by David Longstreth; and more.
Fast Forward II
In a three-concert series designed for those who seek musical adventure and discovery, experience the final chapter of cellist Alisa Weilerstein’s immersive FRAGMENTS series; a program of premieres by the prolific American Composers Orchestra; and the New York premiere of David Lang’s multimedia work before and after nature, performed by the Bang on a Can All-Stars and choir with visual projections by Tal Rosner.
The Knights
Led by Colin Jacobsen and Eric Jacobsen, The Knights expand classical music’s boundaries with innovative programming, exuberant performances, and insatiable curiosity. This season, The Knights welcome eminent pianist Emanuel Ax in a program of Mozart’s piano concertos and more. They perform Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, works by Purcell, and a New York premiere by Nico Muhly in a must-hear collaboration with the similarly adventurous and beloved Brooklyn Rider string quartet. The series concludes with an amazingly wide-ranging program that includes an orchestral suite by J. S. Bach, Stravinsky’s Concerto in D; Geminiani’s Concerto Grosso in D Minor (after Corelli's Violin Sonata Op. 5, No. 12, "Folia"); and The Mountain That Loved a Bird by Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Caroline Shaw.
The Met Orchestra Chamber Ensemble
This constantly evolving ensemble features members of the illustrious Met Orchestra in programs of great ambition and variety. The ensemble adapts to fit the instrumental needs of any piece of music, offering endless programming possibilities. In the intimacy of Weill Recital Hall, hear all-time chamber-music classics, hard-to-find hidden gems, and standout works by several of today’s leading composers.
