Experience four of the season’s biggest concerts on our most iconic stage. Global superstar Yunchan Lim performs a recital of Mozart’s piano sonatas as part of his anticipated Mozart cycle. Pianist Igor Levit, “one of the essential artists of our time” (The New York Times), gives a recital that showcases why he is one of the world’s most in-demand Beethoven interpreters. The groundbreaking Silkroad Ensemble celebrates its 25th anniversary with Artistic Director Rhiannon Giddens and Founder Yo-Yo Ma. “Global phenomenon” (The Telegraph) cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason and “genius” (The Spectator) pianist Benjamin Grosvenor team up for an all-Beethoven duo and trio program that features violin virtuoso Hilary Hahn.

Hear some of the greatest works ever written, performed by nine of the world’s leading soloists. Superstar pianist Yunchan Lim performs five of Mozart’s timeless piano sonatas and more. Violinist Maxim Vengerov and pianist Martha Argerich perform a program of Beethoven’s violin sonatas. An all-star ensemble of Leonidas Kavakos, Gil Shaham, Lawrence Power, Antoine Tamestit, Kian Soltani, and Alisa Weilerstein perform Brahms’s string sextets—two of the late-Romantic repertoire’s most exquisite chamber works.

Carnegie Hall is legendary for its piano recitals, and this popular series features five of the season’s most exciting. Experience a program of Mozart’s sonatas performed by Yunchan Lim; a selection of Beethoven’s sonatas performed by Igor Levit; and an incredible variety of works performed by Hélène Grimaud, Seong-Jin Cho, and Yuja Wang.
Keyboard Virtuosos II
Enjoy five of the season’s most anticipated piano recitals. Audience favorites Igor Levit and Evgeny Kissin perform full programs of Beethoven’s masterworks. Yunchan Lim, one of the instrument’s most recent superstars, performs a full concert of Mozart’s sonatas. Pianist Mitsuko Uchida treats listeners to some of the repertoire for which she is most renowned, including Schubert’s Piano Sonata in A Major, D. 959. Víkingur Ólafsson brings a singular, expertly sequenced program that oscillates between composers Philip Glass, Debussy, and Rameau.
Keyboard Virtuosos III: Keynotes
Get even closer to Carnegie Hall’s world-class piano recitals in the intimate Zankel Hall. In this three-concert series, Minsoo Sohn performs the complete Book I of J. S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier, a varied and notoriously challenging repertoire staple. International Chopin Piano Competition winner Yulianna Avdeeva brings a program of masterful musical miniatures, including Chopin’s complete Twenty-Four Preludes, Op. 28; and selections from Shostakovich’s Twenty-Four Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87. In his exciting return to Carnegie Hall, renowned recitalist Piotr Anderszewski performs one of Robert Schumann’s late sonata masterworks and an intriguing array of works by Brahms.
Carnegie Classics
Get a quintessential Carnegie Hall experience with three of the most anticipated events of the season. In a matinee performance, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe continue their acclaimed, multi-season Brahms exploration, this year featuring outstanding pianist Beatrice Rana in the composer’s towering Piano Concerto No. 2. Nézet-Séguin also leads The Philadelphia Orchestra in Gustav Mahler’s Seventh Symphony, which the composer called his best work. Plus, experience a full concert of Beethoven’s violin sonatas performed by revered pianist Martha Argerich and violin virtuoso Maxim Vengerov.
Distinctive Debuts
Witness music history-in-the-making and the Carnegie Hall debuts of four world-class musicians. International Tchaikovsky Competition “Audience Favorite” Santiago Cañón-Valencia performs the sole cello sonatas of Debussy, Ginastera, and Shostakovich. International piano sensation Lukas Sternath performs a powerful program of Schubert and Liszt. Van Cliburn International Piano Competition silver medalist Anna Geniushene showcases not only her extraordinary musicianship, but “her quiet superpower” (Gramophone) as a recital curator. Oboe virtuoso and insatiable storyteller James Austin Smith juxtaposes Renaissance and Baroque works with modern interpretations of international musical traditions.
Evenings of Song
Experience recital debuts curated and performed by four extraordinary singers. Tenor Jack Swanson and baritone Huw Montague Rendall make their first appearances at Carnegie Hall, and mezzo-soprano Rihab Chaieb and soprano Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha return after performances as soloists on the Hall’s largest stage. Great Singers: Jula Goldwurm Pure Voice Series
Experience timeless vocal music in the modern Zankel Hall. Enjoy an extraordinarily wide-ranging recital in the Carnegie Hall debut of Aigul Akhmetshina, who was named “Female Singer of the Year” at the 2023 Oper! Awards and has performed the title role of Carmen at the Metropolitan Opera and Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Karim Sulayman, a Grammy winner for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album, makes his Zankel Hall debut following an exceptional previous recital in Carnegie Hall’s most intimate venue. Nadine Sierra, an established Metropolitan Opera star, also makes her long-awaited Zankel Hall debut.
Weekends at Carnegie Hall
There’s no simpler path to great weekend plans than this series, which puts three of the season’s most exciting concerts on your calendar—including two matinees. Under Lahav Shani, the storied Munich Philharmonic performs Bruckner’s masterful “Romantic” Symphony and Brahms’s virtuosic Violin Concerto, featuring Anne-Sophie Mutter, the “undisputed queen of violin-playing” (The Times, London). As part of a must-hear, season-spanning cycle, the brilliant Beethoven interpreter Igor Levit performs four of the composer’s piano sonatas. Fast Forward II
In a three-concert series designed for those who seek musical adventure and discovery, experience the final chapter of cellist Alisa Weilerstein’s immersive FRAGMENTS series; a program of premieres by the prolific American Composers Orchestra; and the New York premiere of David Lang’s multimedia work before and after nature, performed by the Bang on a Can All-Stars and choir with visual projections by Tal Rosner.
