Tours

Take a one-hour guided tour and enjoy an insider’s look at our world-famous national landmark. Discover more than 130 years of Carnegie Hall and music history, including secrets about the Hall’s legendary acoustics and little-known stories about its iconic performances.

Walk through sections of the majestic Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, explore rare musical scores in the Composers Gallery, and view invaluable musical artifacts in the Rose Museum. Please note that due to the Hall’s busy performance schedule, tours do not include backstage or onstage access.

Tours are offered Monday through Saturday throughout much of the concert season, subject to availability. Tour times for the following week are posted on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.

Tours are subject to the Hall’s performance and rehearsal schedule, and can be cancelled at any time due to changes. There is no bag, coat, or stroller check available during normal tour hours at Carnegie Hall. Roller bags, large suitcases, and/or bulky backpacks are not permitted inside Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage on tours. These items must be stored at an offsite location. For the tours listed, a limited number of tickets are available for purchase. There are three ways to purchase walk-in tour tickets:

Visit the Box Office at 57th Street and Seventh Avenue

Previously purchased advance tickets are available for pickup from the Box Office starting at 11 AM on the day of the tour.

Tours depart from the Box Office lobby.

Refunds

Tickets cannot be refunded. If you are unable to attend your scheduled tour, please email tours@carnegiehall.org and we will do our best to exchange your ticket for another tour date or time. By completing your purchase, you agree to the Ticketing Policies.

Tour Policies

As they become available, public walk-in tours may be offered Monday through Friday at 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 1:30 PM; and Saturday at 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM. We may occasionally offer tours at other times.

Accessibility

All tours are wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are available upon request. Complimentary assistive listening devices (ALDs) and induction neckloops are available with the deposit of a valid ID.
