With this performance, superstar pianist Yunchan Lim concludes his full cycle of Mozart’s 18 piano sonatas at Carnegie Hall. Following a swift Fantasia to open the performance, the program includes Mozart’s final four works in the genre: Piano Sonata in F Major, K. 533 / K. 494; Piano Sonata in C Major, K. 545 (also known—somewhat misleadingly—as the Sonata facile); Piano Sonata in B-flat Major, K. 570; and the exceptionally difficult Piano Sonata in D Major, K. 576, also known as the “Hunt” Sonata.
