SongStudio: In Conversation with Julia Bullock

Recitals Without Limits
Thursday, January 16, 2020 7:30 PM Resnick Education Wing
Julia Bullock by Allison Michael Orenstein
Soprano Julia Bullock is a “musician who delights in making her own rules” (The New Yorker). In this conversation with Renée Fleming, the innovative vocalist discusses her boundary-pushing project Zauberland, which interweaves Schumann’s Dichterliebe with contemporary songs about the global migration crisis. Bullock and Fleming also reflect on their unique approaches to programming songs and choosing collaborators.
