Soprano Diana Damrau has been performing on the world’s leading opera and concert stages for two decades. She regularly performs title roles at the Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala, Opéra national de Paris, and Vienna State Opera, among others. She made her debut as Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus at the Bayerische Staatsoper in December 2023.

Recording exclusively for Warner / Erato, Ms. Damrau made her recording debut with Arie di bravura—a collection of Mozart, Righini, and Salieri arias. Subsequent solo releases were awarded the ECHO and Opus Klassik awards, among others. She performed Strauss’s Vier letzte Lieder at Carnegie Hall with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under Mariss Jansons, and the recording was released in 2020. In high demand on the concert and recital circuit, Ms. Damrau has held residencies in major European cities including the Barbican Centre in London, toured extensively to South America and Asia, and performed the New Year’s Eve concerts with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Kirill Petrenko.

Ms. Damrau has established herself as one of today’s most sought-after interpreters of song. After she, tenor Jonas Kaufmann, and pianist Helmut Deutsch performed Hugo Wolf’s Italienisches Liederbuch in the most renowned concert halls in Europe, the artists toured again in March and April of 2022 with love songs by Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms.

In the 2023–2024 season, Ms. Damrau presents recitals with Mr. Deutsch at venues that include the Vienna Musikverein, Bozar Brussels, and Carnegie Hall, among others. Her new album, together with Mr. Kaufmann, was released in December 2023, featuring arias and duets from the operetta repertoire. In spring 2024, she tours this program in Europe and South America.

Ms. Damrau is Kammersängerin of the Bayerische Staatsoper and holder of the Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art. She is a recipient of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. She has also received awards from Opera World, International Opera Awards, Opera News, and Gramophone. Since 2020, an asteroid bears her name.

Helmut Deutsch ranks among the finest, most successful, and in-demand song recital accompanists in the world. He was born in Vienna, where he studied at the Vienna Conservatory, Vienna Music Academy (now the University of Music and Performing Arts), and the University of Vienna.

Mr. Deutsch was awarded the Composition Prize of Vienna in 1965 and appointed professor at the age of 24. Although he has performed with leading instrumentalists as a chamber musician, he has concentrated primarily on accompanying in song recitals.

At the beginning of Mr. Deutsch’s career, he worked with the soprano Irmgard Seefried, but the most important singer of his early years was Hermann Prey, whom he accompanied as a permanent partner for 12 years. Subsequently, he has worked with many of the most important recital singers and played in the world’s major music centers. His collaborations with Diana Damrau, Jonas Kaufmann, and Michael Volle are currently among his most important.

Mr. Deutsch has recorded more than 100 albums. In recent years, the development of young talent has been especially close to his heart. After his professorship in Vienna, he continued his teaching primarily in Munich at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, where he worked as a professor of song interpretation for 28 years.

In addition, Mr. Deutsch is a visiting professor at various universities and is sought after for an increasing number of master classes in Europe and Asia. The young Swiss tenor Mauro Peter was one of his last students in Munich and has become one of his favorite recital partners.
