Carnegie Hall Presents

National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America

Friday, July 14, 2023 8 PM Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage
Sir Andrew Davis by Dario Acosta, Gil Shaham by Chris Lee
Experience the vibrant future of the country’s orchestral tradition in a performance by the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA). The Carnegie Hall concert is an especially powerful moment in the ensemble’s coast-to-coast North American tour, conducted by the great Sir Andrew Davis, and it features a world premiere by Valerie Coleman, commissioned in celebration of NYO-USA’s 10th birthday. The program also features Barber’s Violin Concerto, which highlights esteemed soloist Gil Shaham, and Berlioz’s wildly imaginative Symphonie fantastique.
