Countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo began performing professionally at age 11 and has since appeared in opera, concert, recital, film, and Broadway performances. He was recently awarded a Grammy Award, an honorary doctorate from the Manhattan School of Music, a visiting fellowship from Oxford University, and the History Makers Award from the New-York Historical Society. In the spring, he will be a distinguished visiting scholar at Harvard University. This season, his operatic engagements include returns to the Metropolitan Opera for a second title role (after previously staring in Philip Glass’s Akhnaten) in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, Santa Fe Opera for a world premiere, and Teatro Real. He makes debuts at the Opéra national de Paris and London’s Wigmore Hall, gives solo recitals at the Kennedy Center and Boston’s Jordan Hall, and appears at Carnegie Hall with The Met Orchestra Chamber Ensemble. As a producer, he has created projects for Opera Philadelphia, the New York Philharmonic, BBC Proms, WQXR, and St. Ann’s Warehouse, among others.

Canadian-American pianist Bryan Wagorn serves as assistant conductor at The Metropolitan Opera. He has appeared on such major television and radio stations and programs as Good Morning America, WQXR, and CBC Radio, and he has performed with artists including Anthony Roth Costanzo, Angel Blue, Nadine Sierra, Joyce DiDonato, Piotr Beczała, Karita Mattila, Midori, Eric Owens, Pinchas Zukerman, Carol Wincenc, and the New York Woodwind Quintet, as well as members of The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. He regularly performs with the Met Chamber Ensemble in concerts at Carnegie Hall and performed as pianist in the Met’s Grammy Award–winning productions of Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones. He recently performed the role of pianist Boleslao Lazinski onstage at the Metropolitan Opera in their 2023 production of Giordano’s Fedora directed by David McVicar, and with Anthony Roth Costanzo he recorded an album for future release on the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Cristofori fortepiano, the oldest fortepiano in existence. As a conductor he collaborated with Angel Blue and the LA Opera on a digital short film with music by David Lang directed by Bill Morrison.

Eddie Gonzalez works at the intersections of creative expression and spiritual care, as well as digital media and community engagement. With a BA in journalism and an MFA in creative writing, he became a hospice chaplain in 2009, and over the last 14 years has worked within healthcare and national nonprofits to create meaningful spaces for storytelling, compassionate listening, and reflective dialogue. He currently works at On Being.

Eddie has a deep interest in the relationship between inner and outer life and how creative expression and the stories we tell can have profound impacts on ourselves, each other, and the natural world. He finds inspiration and solace in the arts, the outdoors, and time spent with loved ones.
