Violinist Rebecca Anderson is a versatile soloist and chamber musician who is based in New York City. Her recent appearances include solo performances with The Philadelphia Orchestra, contemporary music premieres with A Far Cry and members of Eighth Blackbird, and collaborative projects with Questlove and Ben Folds. Rebecca is passionate about chamber music and has appeared at Music@Menlo, Chamber Music Northwest, Savannah Music Festival, and Music from Angel Fire. She has also collaborated with notable musicians such as Ani and Ida Kavafian, Itzhak Perlman, André Watts, and David Shifrin.

Rebecca was a first-prize winner at the 2013 American String Teachers Association National Solo Competition. Past awards include the 2008 National YoungArts Foundation Competition Gold Award, which led to being named a US Presidential Scholar in both the arts and academics; and the Bronze Medal and Bach Award at the 2008 Stulberg International String Competition.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Rebecca is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School, where she studied with Ida Kavafian, Pamela Frank, Ronald Copes, and Donald Weilerstein. She also recently completed the Rebanks Family Fellowship program at The Royal Conservatory’s Glenn Gould School in Toronto. As part of her fellowship with Ensemble Connect, Rebecca teaches at Brooklyn High School of the Arts.
