David Seder

Trombone

David Seder is a trombonist and music educator based in New York City. He has played professionally with several organizations across the country, such as the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Louisville Orchestra, New World Symphony, and Owensboro Symphony. He graduated from the University of Kentucky, where he studied with Bradley Kerns, before receiving a master’s degree from Yale University with Scott Hartman. He then taught as the adjunct professor of trombone at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, and later returned to Yale for a Master of Musical Arts degree.

Apart from his orchestral activities, David enjoys being the trombonist of Amo Brass, a Fischoff Prize–winning brass quintet that provides concerts and educational experiences to many schools across the country. With Amo Brass, he attended the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival in 2022 and was in residence at the Avaloch Farm Music Institute in 2023. As a recording artist, David released a solo album titled Timestamp in 2018 and J. S. Bach’s complete Goldberg Variations arranged for trombone quartet with Bradley Kerns, Ben Dettelback, and Clint Woltering in 2024. Both albums were released through New Branch Records and are available on all streaming platforms.

As part of his fellowship with Ensemble Connect, David teaches at Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music.
