NEW YORK CITY 2021–2022

Program Details

In order to become a Musical Explorers teacher in New York City, all teachers must apply to be in the program. If selected, you will receive a confirmation email from Carnegie Hall staff with an invitation to select concerts.

Applications open on April 21.

As a part of Musical Explorers in the 2021–2022 school year, participating teachers will receive
  • two interactive concerts (winter and spring) per year, either in Zankel Hall or via the Musical Explorers on-demand videos
  • two required professional development workshops (fall and spring)
  • a Teacher Guide featuring lessons and creative extensions for yearlong coursework, geared toward both music teachers and general classroom teachers
  • Student Guide workbooks
  • digital resources, including video and audio recordings

Professional Development Workshop Schedule

All participating teachers are required to attend two professional development workshops (each 2.5 hours long): one in the fall of 2021, and one in the winter of 2022. Carnegie Hall staff will keep registered teachers abreast of the location as updates become available.

There is a fee of $6 per student and $50 per teacher. Schools are permitted to bring one chaperone free of charge for every 10 students. Payment by personal check, credit card, or copy of certified purchase order is due by Monday, January 31, 2022.
